Dear Mr. Chambers:

I wrote to you the other day about a confusion that arose over options included with a 2009 Honda VP-DX.

As you suggested, we talked with the management team at the dealership and with Ron Alvarez, the sales associate who handled the transaction. I am pleased to report that the issue was handled efficiently, with understanding and more important, equitably for all involved.

I single out Ron Alvarez because he was the face of your dealership to us. He handled the entire transaction with a great deal of professionalism, he was ever gracious in working out what turned out to be some minor kinks and most of all he was unflappable and ever cheerful in the whole process. He went out of his way in a manner I would not have expected.

Thank you all for making purchasing a new car as about as enjoyable as you can make it. You have earned our continued relationship.

Dear Mr. Chambers:

 

My spouse and I bought a 2009 Honda VP on Monday this week. We are both very dissatisfied, and it stems from what we believe to be a material misrepresentation of the car and its features by both the salesman and his manager. We hope to work out an equitable solution before considering other options.

 

I will be going back to the dealership today with the hope to resolving our dissatisfaction.

I’m writing to applaud the service I received this past Friday evening, 4/17/09, when I arrived late for the 30k check-up on my 2007 Yaris. The service team led by Service Advisor Xanchy Thach was extemely courteous and professional. Xanchy and his entire team turned what could have been an “uncomfortable imposition” into a seemless pleasant service experience. I will continue to recommend this dealership, moving forward, for the courtesy and professionalism of its service and sales team – as well as its products.

I was impressed with this location and staff.  I found Mr. James M. Garfield very well-informed, low-keyed, focused and extremely accommodating.  My husband had done his research and located the SAAB he chose to purchase before visiting Herb Chambers SAAB in Boston.  This coupled with Mr. Garfield’s professionalism, made our purchase seamless.  We will shop, again, at your location when the time presents itself for another slightly used SAAB.

I just wanted to drop a quick note to acknowledge your employee Mark for outstanding customer service.   I can’t think of his last name but I’m sure you can look it up since he just sold me a Smart car =)

Mark just called to wish me a happy birthday!  I’m not sure if thats a company standard or just something he decided to do, but either way it is just another example of personal touches I have noticed and appreciated.  Overall my purchase experience has far exceeded my expectations, Mark is polite, friendly and genuine.  It is refreshing to see customer service is alive and well here in the USA.

Having worked customer service field for nearly 20 years I know the value of acknowledging excellent service, so please do not take this lightly.  Let Mark (and his Boss) know what an outstanding job he is doing.

Hi Herb:

I was driving my dog out to a park north of Boston for a hike today when I made a left turn to tight and ran over a curb corner with both of my driver’s side tires, blowing them both from the sidewall.

I called AAA and the operator expressed doubt that a service center would be open on a Veteran’s day, but I asked her to get me a tow to your Toyota dealership in Boston (I drive an 07 Camary Hybrid).

I called ahead, and not only was the dealership open, the service center was as well. I met the manager of that department and, for the first time in my life, I was acutaly IMPRESSED with a dealership service center employee. He and the gentleman working the counter offered me several options for tires in different price ranges, and even offered to drive elsewhere to pick up a tire for me. They never bothered me about bringing my dog into the shop, and had everything taken care of in just over an hour.

I didn’t buy my car from your Boston Toyota dealer, but now I wish I did. Thank you so much for employee such a great team. I work in retail, and I know how trying the public can be, so I’m even more impressed with your team.

I would like to take this time to let you know about an exceptional employee you have.  I purchased a Mini Copper S in 2005 at your Boston location and have had it serviced there since. The person I have worked with anytime my car needed service was Mark Ravin.  I would like to let you know what an exceptional employee you have.  He has always been responsive to any concern I had with the service of my vehicle.  Everyone on your staff at the service department has been exceptional but Mark has always gone above and beyond.  I am soon moving to Washington DC and only hope to receive the level of customer service I have received from Mark and the staff down there.  I would like to thank you for hiring such great people and wanted to let you know that Mark Ravin is an asset to your organization.

In August, I purchased a 2009 Toyota Corolla from one of your Sales Representatives at your dealership in Brighton – Ahmed Mowena. My experience with Ahmed was exceptional, he exceeded both my parents and my expectations by 10-fold. Due to my recent move from Canada to the US, Ahmed helped me with obtaining insurance, getting a driving record from Canada, and ensured that all issues regarding my new car and the transition from Canada to the US were taken care of. My parents were thoroughly impressed with Ahmed’s professionalism, honesty, and eagerness to ensure that our satisfaction was his number one priority. Personally, as a first time car buyer, I was impressed by his honesty, integrity, and level of care throughout the entire process. He made the process seamless with his positive attitude and attention to detail. I hope that this information does not remain un-known because he deserves to be recognized for the efforts that he underwent. I would undoubtedly refer Ahmed and Herb Chambers Toyota to any of my colleages and friends in the future and will enjoy bringing my car to the Brighton location for service.

I wanted to take this opportunity to compliment the following staff at Herb Chambers Honda of Boston, following my recent purchase of a new Honda CRV:

ANNA BANKS – superb sales person – if it weren’t for her demeanor and personality, I would NOT have purchased from this dealership. Over a two-week period, she put great effort into my car-buying process. She is a shining example of how a car salesperson should approach and deal with a customer – professional, patient, courteous, and knowledgeable. It was my pleasure to bring her lunch on one occasion and a flowering plant upon delivery to show my appreciation for her time and dedication.

DARRITH (her direct sales manager) – Again, very personable and professional and concerned about making a deal what would satisfy my financial requirements.

HOWIE (General Manager) — Another top notch person with whom to deal. He matched a price offer from Boch Honda on the spot, which sealed the final deal. He also engaged in pleasant conversation about the car business and buying in general. Without his final approval of the price/deal, I would likely not have purchased from this dealership.

CLAIRE VAN PELT (Communications Director/Main Reception) – Always pleasant on the phone. I told her in person how remarkable her demeanor was on the phone every time I called. I don’t know how one person answering phones all day can possibly remain so upbeat and chipper. It was my pleasure to provide her a flowering plant upon car delivery to express my appreciation for her pleasant phone manner

KEVIN RAPOSO (Internet Sales) – Kevin was my point of first contact via my Internet request for pricing/availability of vehicle I was interested in purchasing. Again, very personable and professional.

I hope you will take the time to personally share my comments with the above staff. You are lucky to employ all of them. They all share you general philosophy of helping a customer purchase a vehicle, rather than just simply selling a vehicle. A representative from Honda Motor Company called me last week to rate my experience with your dealership. I was happy to provide 5-stars for all questions.

Thanks to you and your staff for such fine customer service (This in an economic environment where, perhaps, more desperate sales measures are sometimes employed.)
